Guthrie O'brien

April 13, 1933 — December 31, 2016

Guthrie O’Brien, age 83 of Lockport, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Owenton Center. He was born in Lockport and was the son of the late David and Cordia Cox O’Brien. He was retired from the Ohio Valley Aluminum Company of Shelbyville. He was a member of Lockport Baptist Church and attended Orville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister: Mary O’Brien of Bethlehem; and several grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Delores Raisor O’Brien; and eight brothers: Tom O’Brien, Charlie O’Brien, John O’Brien, Eugene O’Brien, David O’Brien, Jr., Ross O’Brien, James O’Brien, and Kenneth O’Brien.

Funeral services scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Rev. Paul Briscoe of Lockport Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Wallace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2017.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brenda Sholar, Hubert Snider, James Moore, and David Fitzgerald. Active pallbearers will be Clyde Webster, Joe Clark, Fred Snider, Trenton Webster, Darrrel Baker, and Clyde Sholar.
