Mary Elizabeth Stone Smith, age 84 of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1935 in Shelbyville to the late Isham Thomas Stone and Rebecca Elizabeth Blackaby Stone. She was a housewife and farmer and a member of Berea Christian Church, in Franklinton. She was the valedictorian of Pleasureville High School Class of 1953, and she served on Southern States Women’s Advisory Board for many years.

She is survived by one son: Bill Smith (Stephanie), of Bethlehem; one daughter: Becky Ethington (Eddie), of Bethlehem; one sister: Adelyn Clements, of Pleasureville; 3 grandchildren: Billy John Smith (Ashley), of Shelbyville, Cole Smith (April), of Louisville and Heidi Janes (Adam), of Finchville; and 3 great-grandchildren: Harrison Smith, Ellie Smith and Logan Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Garnet Smith.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Sholar Funeral Home. Rev. Barbara Minton, Jeff Wells and Heidi Janes will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.

Active pallbearers will be Richard Riggs, Garry Lyons, P.J. Medley, Billy John Smith, Cole Smith and Adam Janes.
