Verna Trautwein Stivers

Verna Trautwein Stivers, age 77, of Pleasureville, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She was born July 31, 1945, to the late Jasper Adrian Cays and Nellie Bly Craig Cays. Verna formerly worked for Valley Industries and Henry County EMS and was the City Clerk in Pleasureville for 27 years, where she retired in 2013.

She is survived by three sons: David Lynn Trautwein (Diana) of Frankfort, Teddy Ray Trautwein (Sharon) of La Grange and Dwayne Trautwein (Frances) of Pleasureville; one daughter: Karen Marie Rucker (Everett) of Worthville; one daughter in law: Amy Trautwein of Louisville; one sister: Linda Cays Golden of Buckner; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Randolph Stivers; two sons: Calvin Lee Trautwein and Douglas Jasper Trautwein; one brother: Carl “Shorty” Cays and three sisters: Jewell Dean Roberts, Betty Carol Cays and Vickie Lynn Cays.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Brother Jerry Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. Burial will be in Bagdad Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anna Trautwein, Brooke Trautwein, Kayla Wilson and Julie Raisor. Pallbearers will be Victor Trautwein, Kris Trautwein, Zachary Trautwein, Cade Trautwein, Devin Trautwein and Ben Tingle.
