Vertie Ashby

Vertie Gay Ashby, age 99, of Pleasureville died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Crestview Nursing Center in Shelbyville. She was born in Caneyville and was the daughter of the late Sherman and Katie Eyl Woosley. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown. She is survived by one two sons: Mitchell Ashby (Joanne), and Kenneth Ashby (Desi), all of Pleasureville; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Jerry Anderson, pastor of Pleasureville Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort. Pallbearers include Jason Ashby, Brian Ashby, Timmy Ashby, Chance Ashby, Jeffrey Morrison, and Noel Colon. Online condolences may be expressed at sholarfuneralhome.com.
